Wind farm Vlissingen
The wind turbines are lined up in a row parallel to the dike along the ferry landings of Vlissingen.
Windpark Vlissingen is owned and operated by Windpark Zeeland I B.V., a joint-venture of Triodos Ventures and E-Connection. The wind farm was commissioned in June 1997.
From 1990 until 1997 a wind farm of seven wind turbines of 250 kW each was stood at this location. These wind turbines, from an older generation, produced at least 30% less energy than the present wind turbines. E-Connection secured the permits for the construction and operation of both wind farms and managed the contracting and commisioning. E-Connection executes the daily management of the operating company. By remote control the wind farm is controlled and monitored continuously by operators from E-Connection.
